Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Pay State Visit to the Republic of Korea


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea, during which he will participate in the inaugural "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" summit of heads of state, scheduled to take place in Seoul on September 16.
Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, reported on preparations for the visit's events during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, September 11.
To date, the contractual and legal framework between the two countries comprises 118 documents. Seventeen investment projects involving South Korean capital are registered in Turkmenistan, including major facilities such as the sulfur purification plant at the Galkynysh field and the gas-chemical complex in Kiyanly.
The visit is expected to see the signing of a substantial package of intergovernmental and interagency agreements covering the fields of economics, investment, transport, logistics, the chemical industry, infrastructure construction, the environment, and water resources.
