Weather forecasters promise "season of variable rains" in Ashgabat

Snow in Ashgabat is not something that would be unusual, but is still not ordinary. After all, the Turkmen winter can, in other years, please the townspeople once or twice with fluffy flakes for the whole season, which, settling on the ground, branches of trees and roofs of houses, will not last very long. Therefore, the white snowflakes, when they appear in the air, cause almost an adolescent's admiring attention to the eyes of the observers who have clung to the windows, and the most active part of them - the children - hastens to proceed immediately: after all, it is necessary to make a tiny snowman, play snowballs or just have fun poking around in the snow. It is not known when you will get another chance for such a pleasure.
The first couple of times the snow that fell in Ashgabat this winter was, strictly speaking, not much like it. It looked more like a spilled flour, slightly covering the roadside paths, as if marking the trail of the winter caravan going farther north. Following this timid "breakthrough" of the winter, the city landscape blurred with the flowing watercolor of monotonously charged rain, as if late autumn returned, and winter did not come. Suddenly, among the transparent heavy snowstones, the snowflakes bravely flashed, making the autumn harp silent.
In a few minutes, the vague picture of the surrounding landscape was painted with dense whitewash, from under which the contours of houses, branches, streets outlined by graphite appeared ... Bright inclusions were introduced into the landscape by the colorful umbrellas of townspeople hurrying under the snow. Parks for several morning hours have turned into winter forests, attracting passers-by to walk along the "untrodden" paths among the evergreen trees dressed in a white muslin.
By the middle of the day only the memory and puddles were left of the snow. On Friday, warming will begin again. In the coming weekend weather forecasters promise dry weather with variable clouds: +10 degrees on Saturday and +12 degrees on Sunday afternoon. But do not put away the umbrellas - next week we are again waiting for the rain, and on Monday even a downpour.
Monday to Tuesday will be cool - +8, +7 degrees, and then the thermometer's column will grow day by day with little fluctuations, despite the forecasted by meteorologists "rainy season", or rather, "rain", which will occasionally come until the middle of March.
This is not surprising, the maximum amount of precipitation in Ashgabat on the average for many years of meteorological observations, falls in February and March.
According to the forecasts of, the Ashgabat residents can see the snow next time at the end of the first decade of March.
