Xi Jinping arrives in US for state visit, Trump welcomes him

On Wednesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in the United States, beginning a three-day state visit.
Xi Jinping’s plane landed at Joint Base Andrews. The Chinese president and his wife, Peng Liyuan, were warmly welcomed by U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, in a rare ceremony held at the aircraft.
An honor guard lined both sides of the red carpet to welcome the Chinese president. The ceremony also featured an artillery salute and the national anthems of China and the United States.
