Putin: Russia welcomes positive agreements between China and the United States

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday in St. Petersburg, while answering questions from journalists, that Russia welcomes negotiations between the United States and China.

Putin noted that China and the United States are the world’s two largest economies. He said the agreements they reach, as well as the way those agreements are achieved, will affect the global economy as a whole, including Russia.

“We welcome any agreement reached between China and the United States that has a positive significance,” Putin said. Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded his state visit to the United States on Friday. He began the visit on Wednesday, marking his first state visit to the United States in 11 years.
