Kazakhstan intends to become the artificial intelligence center in Central Asia

Kazakhstan plans to become the largest regional hub for artificial intelligence and data processing technologies. Bagdat Musin, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC, announced the strategy for developing computing capacities and attracting global IT giants at the AI and Digital Bridge forum.
The country's main advantage is the combination of affordable energy resources and developed telecommunication infrastructure. To operate large-scale data centers necessary for training AI models, Kazakhstan plans to allocate up to 5 GW of additional power capacities.
A key direction of the digital strategy will be cooperation with global IT industry leaders, such as NVIDIA, to create local engineering competencies. In parallel, the country is expanding fiber-optic networks and data transit routes through the Caspian region to reduce signal latency to 45 milliseconds. To ensure stable coverage, it is planned to combine terrestrial and space communications.
Thanks to its favorable geographical location and state support, Kazakhstan expects to provide digital and computing services to all countries of Central Asia, strengthening its positions in the global digital space.
