Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin Held Talks in Avaza

On October 8, a meeting took place in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader had arrived in the country to participate in high-level international events: the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Caspian Environmental Summit.
The Head of the Turkmen state warmly welcomed the Russian leader and thanked him for accepting the invitation. Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Ashgabat highly values the Russian President's personal attention to the development of regional cooperation, viewing the meetings in "Avaza" as an effective platform for an open exchange of views and the formulation of new avenues for collaboration.
For his part, Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and conveyed his warmest greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the talks, the parties noted that Turkmenistan and Russia are bound by a solid foundation of strategic partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening political and diplomatic dialogue and trade-economic ties—areas where Russia has traditionally been one of the country’s leading partners—as well as on effective cooperation with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The parties also reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening cultural and humanitarian ties, including in the fields of education, science, healthcare, and culture.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the heads of state exchanged wishes for good health and success in their official duties, and wished the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia peace, happiness, and prosperity.
