Marco Rubio Will Hold Meetings with Representatives of Turkmenistan

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Uzbekistan and India from October 17 to 22. In Samarkand, he will participate in a meeting in the “Central Asia–United States” (C5+1) format and hold bilateral meetings with representatives of Turkmenistan and other countries in the region. Reuters reported this, citing the U.S. Department of State.
During his visit to Uzbekistan, Rubio plans to hold talks with representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. According to the U.S. Department of State, a delegation comprising more than 200 representatives of American businesses will also take part in the visit.
The meetings are expected to focus on advancing strategic cooperation between the United States and the countries of Central Asia, including strengthening economic ties.
The C5+1 format brings together the United States and the five Central Asian countries and serves as a platform for discussing regional cooperation.
Following the meetings in Uzbekistan, Rubio will travel to India, where he reportedly intends to discuss prospects for expanding energy cooperation with government representatives.
