Turkmenistan’s logistics and communications sectors have demonstrated robust growth over the first ten months of this year. The overall growth rate for work performed and services rendered within the transport and communications complex from January to October reached 113.6%.

Details on the sector’s development were presented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev during a government meeting on November 5.

This growth in infrastructure-related indicators is driven by an 8.5% increase in cargo transportation volume across all modes of transport compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic has also maintained a positive trend, reaching 101.9% of the projected targets.

Civil aviation led the way in terms of growth among the relevant government agencies. The State Service "Türkmenhowaýollary" (Turkmenistan Airlines) saw an 18.3% increase compared to the previous year, reflecting a robust recovery and the expansion of both international and domestic flight routes.

The road transport sector also showed strong momentum, with a 14.9% increase in services provided, while the telecommunications sector—under the Ministry of Communications—reached 115.1% of the previous year's figures, driven by systematic digitalization and the expansion of network infrastructure. Steady results were also recorded in the railway sector (+7.4%) and maritime transport (+1.4%), both of which facilitate the country’s primary transit freight flows.
