On 1-3 March 2018, the capital of Oman, Muscat will host an international handicrafts exhibition. As reported by the Sultanate Public Authority for Craft Industries, the participation in the major international event was confirmed by the leading countries in handicraft heritage such as Turkmenistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, Sudan, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and Nigeria. The show, which will be arranged in the tourist spot - the picturesque Qurum Park, will feature innovative directions in handicraft processing of such materials as glass, silver, copper, wool and natural dyed fabrics. Guests will have the opportunity to buy antiques, ceramic and pottery items. The exhibition is aimed at maintaining a spirit of competition in the market between craft projects and craftsmen. And due to the extensive demonstration of various types of arts and crafts, the organizers hope to enhance the demand among the youth for artistic crafts. The exhibition is timed with the celebration of Omani Craftsman Day, traditionally marked on 3 March and symbolizes respect for social heritage, tribute for the professions of ancestors and the preservation of the national identity of the country.
