Flydubai announces steady growth of passenger traffic to Central Asian destinations

Air carrier Flydubai (UAE) has announced stable increase in passenger transportation to the Central Asian region in its report on financial and production activities for 2017 year. Last year, the company contributed 93% to the overall growth of passenger traffic at Dubai Airports to the destinations in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Moreover, the carrier shares 54% of the total passenger traffic from Dubai to the region. In general, in 2017, the number of passengers, serviced by Flydubai on the routes from Dubai to Ashgabat, Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Bishkek, and Dushanbe, increased by 8% compared to the previous year. Since the launch of the first flight in 2009, Flydubai has established a wide route network, which currently covers over 100 destinations in 47 countries of the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, Africa, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Europe and the Indian subcontinent. Last year, airliners with the blue-orange Flydubai logo transported about 11 million people, and the total revenue of the carrier grew by 9.2% and reached US $ 1.5 billion. The company has a state-of-art fleet of 61 Boeing aircrafts of the next generation, and by the end of 2023 it will be replenished with another 100 aircrafts. Flydubai has been present on the Turkmen transport market since 2010. Flights between the Turkmen capital and Dubai are operated four times a week.
