Uzbekistan to implement agreements on tourism partnership with Turkmenistan
Uzbekistan intends to develop jointly with Turkmenistan the combined tourist routes.
These plans are fixed in the program on priority measures for tourism development in 2018-2019, recently approved by the President of Uzbekistan.
The document provides for designing of joint tours along the Silk Road with the participation of the Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. Moreover, Uzbekistan plans to sign intergovernmental agreements to stimulate mutual tourist flows.
These tasks will be solved by the state committee for tourism of Uzbekistan, ministry of culture, foreign ministry, as well as the governorates of the border regions.
The special working group will deal with the phased simplification of visa procedures and introduction of accelerated visa and customs procedures for travelers from neighboring countries.
During the summit talks in Ashgabat in March this year, the state tourism committees of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed the Road Map for the development of cooperation in the tourism sector for 2017-2019.
