Latvia supports political dialogue between the EU and Central Asia

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Latvia and Belarus, Nazarguly Shaguliev met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andrejs Pildegovichs on Monday, March 5th, in Riga, according to the website of The Baltic Times. The ambassador arrived in Riga to present his credentials to Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis.
During the meeting of the AEP of Turkmenistan and the head of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed cooperation of the countries within the framework of international organizations, as well as in the format of the European Union - Central Asia.
Pildegovichs emphasized that within the framework of bilateral relations between the two countries it is important to maintain dialogue and cooperation in various spheres. The Secretary of State called transport, information and communication technologies, education and protection of the environment the most promising areas for interaction.
Pildegovichs also has declared, that Latvia supports expansion of political dialogue between the European Union and the Central Asia, including Turkmenistan.
The countries of Central Europe also spoke in favor of the expansion of cooperation with Central Asia. The launch of a new vector in relations between the two regions was the agenda for the meeting of the "Visegrad Four", which was held in Budapest on February 27th.
