Climate is not a barrier: in the southern countries winter sports are no longer exotic

Winter sports are becoming increasingly prevalent, mainly in those regions of the world where for decades they have been considered exotic.
This "fashion" has also reached some Central Asian states, which are traditionally considered southern. These countries are gradually mastering unusual sports associated with snow and ice, and news agencies distribute news with the mark "for the first time."
Tajik media reports that for the first time Tajikistan will take part in the Winter Paralympic Games in South Korean Phenchhang, which will be held from 9th to 18th of March. The country at the Games will be represented by the skier Sievush Ilesov.
Skeptics may argue that for Tajikistan skiing is not very exotic, because in the mountainous areas of Tajikistan, snow falls and is quite abundant.
How then to explain the rapid development of hockey in hot Turkmenistan, where this winter, for example, there was no snow at all. And the national team of the country achieved phenomenal success in the qualification tournament of the third division of the World Championship, which was held in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sarajevo.
In addition to Turkmenistan and the hosts of the tournament, the UAE and Kuwait national teams participated in the tournament. And Turkmen hockey players have achieved a 100% result - 3 wins and a devastating difference between the goals scored and missed 41 - 5. This victory gives Turkmen athletes the right to compete in the third division of the world hockey championship in 2019. But the Turkmen team does only the first steps in big hockey.
According to sports experts, with such a pace of development of sports, Turkmenistan can make its way into the world hockey elite much earlier than it could be expected.
The climate may be hot, but everything depends only on the athletes' striving for victory, and the state policy that helps these aspirations to realize.
