The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed upcoming events at the highest level
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had telephone conversations with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President-elect Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Uzbek leader congratulated the Turkmen side on the successful holding of the most important political event - the presidential elections, and the convincing victory of Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sincerely wishing peace, well-being and prosperity to the fraternal people of Turkmenistan, President.uz says.
The interlocutors expressed confidence in the continuation of joint work aimed at consistently strengthening the relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Topical issues of the bilateral agenda and regional cooperation were also discussed. The positive dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries was noted with satisfaction.
In particular, it was noted that last year the volumes of mutual trade and cargo transportation increased significantly. Close contacts have been established at the level of border regions and leading enterprises. Specific cooperation projects are being promoted in the fields of industry, transport, energy, agriculture and water management.
