President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov has appointed Charyguly Ataev to the position of judge of the Supreme Court, the official Turkmen press writes today.

Previously, Ataev served as chairman of the Ashgabat City Court. He was replaced by Begench Hodzhamgulyev, who previously was a judge of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan.

In accordance with the current legislation, the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan is the highest judicial body that oversees the consideration of civil, arbitration, administrative and criminal cases.

Also, by the decree of the Turkmen leader, new judges of regional and city courts were appointed. Judges whose term of office had expired were dismissed.
