Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Russia began on Friday, within the framework of which he will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, official Turkmen media write.

The first visit of Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Russia as the head of state will give impetus to the development of a multifaceted Turkmen-Russian dialogue, the announcement says.

Following the meeting of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Russia, the signing of the Declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between the countries is expected. It is also planned to sign a number of documents on trade and economic cooperation.
