On Tuesday, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui held talks in Ashgabat with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

During the meeting, the diplomats highly appreciated the level of strategic bilateral ties. Issues of developing relations between Turkmenistan and China in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields were discussed, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

"The parties stated the closeness and similarity of the positions of Turkmenistan and China on topical issues of the regional and global agenda, primarily related to ensuring global peace and security," the Foreign Ministry said.
