Muhammetmyrat Amanov, CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, announced that a meeting of the TAPI project steering committee will be held in Ashgabat in the near future, the Pajhwok news agency reported.

The statement was made during a meeting with Afghan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund. The parties also discussed the implementation of the project and the progress of the previously agreed activities.

The Afghan side once again stressed its commitment to the project and readiness for any form of cooperation that will contribute to the successful construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

TAPI is a multi-million dollar project involving the construction of a pipeline with a length of more than 1,800 km to export 33 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas per year.
