CIS Foreign Ministers have agreed on the documents of the summit of Heads of state
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries was held in Astana on October 12. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The participants of the event discussed issues of deepening cooperation between foreign ministries within the CIS, as well as topical aspects of the regional and international agenda. Following the meeting, a number of decisions were made aimed at deepening cooperation on the Commonwealth platform, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday evening.
The Foreign Ministers agreed on draft documents to be submitted for consideration by the heads of state at the CIS Summit on October 14.
The Plan of multilevel inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS for 2023 and the Action Plan for 2023-2024 on the implementation of the Strategy of International Youth Cooperation of the CIS member states were approved.
The Interstate program "Sports Capitals of the Commonwealth" has been adopted. It is assumed that the status of the sports capital of the CIS will be assigned annually to one of the cities in turn in the Commonwealth states.
Following the results of the event, it was decided to hold a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers on April 14, 2023 in Tashkent.
