The Central Asian countries are less exposed to the side effect of the global crisis, as a result of which the average inflation rate in the region in 2023 will decrease to 10.5%, and the economic growth rate will remain at a historically high level - about 7%.

This was stated in the report on the forecasts of the International Monetary Fund by the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department Jihad Azur.

In his speech, the IMF representative noted that in his latest forecast, the growth rate of the region's economy was revised upward by 1.2 percentage points.

The IMF expert also touched upon the topics of energy, raw materials and food security, arguing that the Central Asian countries will be less susceptible to global shocks due to the favorable geo-economic characteristics of the region, tough anti-inflationary policies, and the monetary system.
