President of the European Council Charles Michel stated the commitment of the European Union to strengthen relations with Turkmenistan and to continue cooperation through political dialogue, as well as bilateral and multilateral projects.

This is stated in the congratulatory message of the Chairman of the European Council to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, published today in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".

Charles Michel expressed hope that the upcoming joint conference on green energy and reduction of methane emissions, which will be held in November in Ashgabat, as well as readiness to cooperate in the format "European Union – Central Asia" which will contribute to a fruitful exchange of views and increase the economic and social opportunities of all citizens of Turkmenistan.
