The WHO country office in Turkmenistan, together with the organization's European Bureau and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, conducted a simulation course on extended care for patients with COVID-19, according to a WHO press release.

The course, built on the basis of the WHO basic clinical guidelines on COVID-19, allowed the country's medical workers to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to provide timely and high-quality care to patients with COVID-19.

WHO experts shared their experience in infection prevention and infection control in patient care, the features of their initial examination, and also talked about the use of antimicrobials in COVID-19.

The basis of high-quality care for patients requiring emergency medical care is reliable teamwork, effective interaction in decision-making. Therefore, the participants mastered a team approach to caring for patients hospitalized with COVID-19.

In the future, participants of the course will share their knowledge with specialists in the field to train qualified national instructors in this field.
