The International Football Federation (FIFA) is discussing with representatives of other football organizations the possibility of renaming at least one stadium in each country in honor of the three-time world champion, the King of Football, Brazilian Pele.

This was announced by the head of FIFA Gianni Infantino, who attended the farewell ceremony with the legendary footballer at the home stadium of the Santos football club. It was there that Pele spent most of his football career.

"I'm here to pay tribute to him. We talked with international federations about holding a minute of silence in his honor before every match of the local football championships. But we also want every country to have at least one stadium named after Pele. 50, 100 years will pass, our children will ask us about him, all this will prolong the memory of Pele," Infantino said, adding that Pele's legacy cannot be described in words.

FIFA lowered its flags in front of its headquarters in Zurich in honor of Pele.
