Baku hosts international conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly
The international scientific-practical conference “Makhtumkuli-Pragy - an outstanding poet of world literature” was held on Wednesday in the capital of Azerbaijan with the participation of representatives of the scientific and creative intelligentsia, the media, as well as fans of the work of the great thinker of the East of the XVIII century.
The forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classical poet was organized by the Turkmen embassy in Baku together with the Academies of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
Makhtumkuli-Pragy, a poet and thinker, is one of the progressive and educated people of his time, who has always advocated peace, unity and national values. His work is studied by researchers from many countries of the world, including Azerbaijani Turkic scientists. They are engaged in translations of the literary heritage of Magtymguly and popularization of his work in scientific, public and international circles, speakers at the conference noted.
