A solar power plant with a capacity of 370 kW was commissioned at the Khasyl Hotel, located in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, on Friday. 29 solar panels will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in CO2 equivalent to 104 tons per year, experts noted at the event.

The power plant will accelerate the use of solar and other forms of renewable energy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate climate change. The station was built within the framework of the project "Sustainable cities in Turkmenistan: integrated development of green cities in Ashgabat and Avaza". The program is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
