The draft agenda of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS was formed in Minsk


The CIS Executive Committee in Minsk hosted a regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth member States to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth.
The event was attended by the CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev, his deputies and Executive Committee staff.
The members of the Council of Permanent Representatives discussed the implementation of the Action Plan for holding the Year of the Russian Language as a Language of Interethnic Communication in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2023. Alexey Sazonov, Director of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee, provided information on this issue, the CIS Internet portal reports.
The plan consists of eight sections and includes 154 activities of a general humanitarian, scientific, educational and educational nature. The emphasis is on the professional development of teaching staff in the field of the Russian language, the support of gifted children and youth in the field of Russian studies, the development of librarianship and book publishing. There is also a section on information support for the Year of the Russian Language.

Alexey Sazonov noted that according to the information available to the CIS Executive Committee, in the first half of the year, measures were fully implemented on 22 points of the Plan, and another 54 positions are under implementation.
Following the discussion, the Permanent Representatives noted the importance of systematic information support of events dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language.
During the meeting, the Permanent Plenipotentiaries also basically formed the draft agenda of the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, which will be held on October 27 in Bishkek. It is planned that the heads of government will exchange views on topical issues of economic cooperation in the CIS, discuss financing the activities of CIS bodies, consider issues of cooperation in the field of geodesy and cartography, approve the concept of digital transformation of fuel and energy complex industries, discuss issues of innovative cooperation.
A separate block on the agenda of the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government is devoted to humanitarian issues. Thus, during the meeting, the Action Plan for the preparation and celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the CIS in 2025 and the Action Plan for the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the CIS in 2024 will be considered. It is also expected that a decision will be made at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government to hold championships and championships in individual sports in the Commonwealth.
The next meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives will be held on October 3, 2023 in Minsk.
