The Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented credentials to the President of Uzbekistan
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received credentials from the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Shadurdy Meredov on Wednesday, August 30.
Turkmenistan is our closest neighbor, with whom we have lived side by side for many centuries, have a common language, religion and customs, the Uzbek leader noted at the ceremony.
It was noted with satisfaction that relations between our countries have reached a new level in recent years in all areas – in politics, inter-parliamentary relations, trade and economy, transport, energy, water and agriculture, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Ashgabat, fruitful negotiations with the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov served to further deepen the strategic partnership, the message on the website of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan says.
"We have a huge potential for expanding trade ties, strengthening cooperation in the economic sphere and implementing specific projects, as well as for increasing transportation and transit of goods," the leader of Uzbekistan noted.
The intention was expressed to continue close multilateral contacts, in particular, close dialogue and the practice of mutual support within the framework of the United Nations and other leading international and regional organizations.
