On Tuesday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received President of the Japanese University of Tsukuba Nagata Kyosuke. The main topic at the meeting was the possibility of expanding Turkmen-Japanese contacts in the fields of science and education. As noted, good experience of interaction has already been accumulated in this area, but its potential is far from being exhausted.
The head of Turkmenistan stressed that the qualitative development of the national education system, its material and technical modernization are a priority of state policy. Evidence of this is the recent opening on the day of the beginning of the academic year of many new educational institutions throughout the country, as well as the laying of future ones.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan strives to use the best world experience in the development of the education system, and in this context, the example of partnership with Japan is indicative. Within the framework of this systemic cooperation, Turkmen students study in Japanese universities, the Japanese language is taught in a number of secondary and higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, relations have been established between representatives of science and education of the two countries.
In this context, the head of state highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the University of Tsukuba and domestic universities - the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi and the Engineering and Technology University named after Oguz Khan.
The existing agreements at the highest level provide an opportunity to expand contacts in the field of personnel training, including the involvement of Japanese experts in teaching at Turkmen universities, the organization of internships and the exchange of experience between specialists of various profiles, the meeting said, the footage of which was shown on Turkmen television.
