The next meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan in the EU-CA format is being prepared
Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiyeva held a video meeting on Thursday with the European Union Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas Niclasson.
During the talks, views were exchanged on the current socio-political and economic situation in Afghanistan, and issues of further cooperation within the framework of regional and international formats on Afghanistan aimed at resolving the situation in this country were discussed, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The diplomats raised questions about the forthcoming meeting of foreign ministers in the EU-Central Asia format, and also exchanged views on organizing the next meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan in the EU-CA format.
In May of this year, the fourth meeting was held in Ashgabat in the format of the Special Representatives of the countries of the European Union and Central Asia for Afghanistan and the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala. At the same time, it was planned to hold the next such meeting in the fall.
