Turkmenistan is ready to consider new proposals from St. Petersburg


The visit of the Governor of St. Petersburg is a clear confirmation of the desire of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation to strengthen a multifaceted strategic partnership. Both countries successfully cooperate in the political and diplomatic sphere, trade and economic sector, cultural and humanitarian field, - this was stated during the meetings of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov with the leadership of Turkmenistan.
In the context of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the regions and subjects of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg occupies a special place - both because of its developed urban planning system and advanced industrial and intellectual potential. This was discussed at Beglov's reception with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As an example, cooperation with enterprises of St. Petersburg, as well as with its large companies operating in Turkmenistan, was cited. It was proposed to consider the possibilities of intensifying cooperation in the field of construction of infrastructure facilities, the potential for partnership in the field of processing of agricultural products and the food industry was noted.
Turkmenistan is also ready to consider proposals from St. Petersburg business circles on new areas of cooperation, including digitalization and the construction of "smart" cities. Cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere still occupies an important place on the bilateral agenda.

Prospects for the development of business relations between St. Petersburg and Turkmenistan were also discussed during the meeting of the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Alexander Beglov.
It was noted that Turkmenistan is interested in studying and applying the extensive experience gained by St. Petersburg in the fields of industry, production of building materials and urban planning.

Promising areas of cooperation are the use of IT technologies and the construction of "smart" cities. In this regard, Turkmenistan's readiness for further active joint work with St. Petersburg partners was confirmed. An invariable and important component of cooperation is the cultural and humanitarian sphere, where there are long-standing good traditions. This was reported in the evening broadcast of the news service of the Turkmen State Television.
The head of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, according to his press service, described the trip as intensive and productive, playing an important role in strengthening business and friendly ties with Turkmenistan.
During the visit, the governor also visited the city of Arkadag, got acquainted with its arrangement and management system, visited one of the residential buildings and other facilities.
