The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the Regional Representative of the UN OHCHR
On Monday, November 10, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Regional Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia Matilda Bogner, who arrived in Ashgabat as part of a working visit.
During the meeting, interlocutors exchanged opinions on topical areas of development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN OHCHR. The head of the country's foreign ministry noted that as part of the improvement of democratic institutions in Turkmenistan and the effective implementation of human rights obligations, the state is carrying out multifaceted work on close cooperation with relevant international organizations and departments, primarily within the framework of the UN.
The participants of the meeting noted the positive dialogue within the framework of the work of the Interdepartmental Commission on ensuring the fulfillment of Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law as a separate mechanism of cooperation.
