Ex-CEO of OpenAI to head Microsoft's new research division


The ex-CEO of the American company OpenAI, Sam Altman, who was recently fired, moved to Microsoft.
The Microsoft team will also be joined by the former chairman of the board of directors of OpenAI Greg Brockman and a number of other former employees of the startup. They will be part of Microsoft's new advanced research group in the field of artificial intelligence. It will be led by Sam Altman.
"We will try to provide them with all the resources necessary for success in their work," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella promised.
At the same time, Microsoft expressed its determination to maintain cooperation with OpenAI.
"We are looking forward to getting to know Emmett Shire and the new management of OpenAI, and to start working with them," Satya Nadella said, stressing that the support of clients and partners in joint projects with OpenAI will continue in full.
Earlier, Microsoft helped OpenAI startup launch its artificial intelligence systems.
