Diplomat Amangeldi Rahmanov was awarded a special award by the Organization for Economic Cooperation


The Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Amangeldi Rahmanov was awarded a special award of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in the category "History, culture, Literature and Fine Arts". The award was presented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
At the award ceremony, one of the country's oldest diplomats, Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov thanked the Organizing Committee of the international structure for the high appreciation of his scientific work. Expressing sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the great care of scientific teams, he assured that he would apply his knowledge and efforts to implement the tasks set for the further development of the country.
It should be noted that the names of the winners of the organization's awards were announced during the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which took place on November 9, 2023 in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From February 1991 to January 1995, Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov was the first Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations. He represented Turkmenistan during the 47th, 48th and 49th sessions of the UN General Assembly.
From March 1995 to March 2001, he worked as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea.
Since 2008, Professor diplomat has been working at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Amangeldi Rahmanov is the author of several textbooks for students of higher educational institutions of the country. In particular, "Fundamentals of the Diplomatic Service (History-theory-practice)", published in 2012, "The United Nations and its system" (2014), "Diplomatic missions and information, analytical and educational activities" (2015), "Turkmenistan-China: History and Modernity", published in 2017 and "Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan" (2019).
On February 18, 2023, Amangeldi Rahmanov was awarded the distinctive badge "Türkmenistanyń ussat diplomaty".
