Turkmenistan takes part in the SPECA Countries Exhibition in Baku


"The SPECA Countries Exhibition: Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Development" is the name of the exhibition that opened on Wednesday, November 22 at the Baku Expo Center. It is held within the framework of SPECA Week, a special UN program for the economies of Central Asian countries.

The participating States of the program are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The purpose of the program is to develop cooperation between Member States and support their integration into the world economy.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the opening of the exhibition organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of SPECA. In particular, he visited the stand of Turkmenistan and got acquainted with the presented samples of products of state-owned enterprises and private companies.

The purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate the economic potential of the member countries, jointly discuss the possibilities of mutually beneficial partnership and strengthen regional economic cooperation between the SPECA states.

The countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan are a single historical, cultural and geographical region of strategic importance in world politics due to their economy, demography and geopolitical potential. The recent mutual visits of the heads of state stimulate the development of economic cooperation between the countries in a bilateral format. At the same time, the growing authority of this region in the international arena dictates the need for close cooperation between our countries. From this point of view, SPECA activities create a favorable ground for the development of multilateral cooperation, the press service of the President of Azerbaijan comments on the exhibition.
