For 11 months of this year, the growth of exports of Turkmen goods reached 6.1%. In parallel, the volume of imports of finished goods decreased by almost 21%. These figures were provided at the meeting of the Turkmen government on December 8. The reduction of imports is illustrating the impact of the state policy on import substitution, and the growth of exports - the improvement of the quality of national products. The basis of Turkmen exports in the outgoing year was: cotton fiber, cement, various products of oil and gas processing. The volume of imports decreased due to increased use of domestic raw materials, construction materials, and food and non-food products on the domestic market. The implementation of import substitution strategy positively influences the realization of Turkmenistan's export potential, as demonstrated by the International Exhibition of technologies for the production of import-substituting products held in Ashgabat in early December. According to the specialists of the Institute for Strategic Planning and Economic Development of Turkmenistan, the country has a high rate of stabilization of the national market and its gradual modification at the present time.
