On October 29 in Bukhara, a working meeting was held with the participation of responsible officials from the transport agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The Uzbek side was headed by B. Holmatov, the Director of the Center for Transportation and Logistics Development Issues under the Ministry of Transport, while the Turkmen side was represented by V. Hojanepesov, the Deputy Chairman of the "Turkmenavtoulaglary" Agency.

The parties discussed issues related to cargo transportation and agreed to establish an interdepartmental working group for prompt resolution of these matters, as well as agreed that from 2025, fees and payments will be collected on a parity basis between the two countries.

In addition, an agreement was reached to introduce a system of electronic exchange of permit forms “E-Permit” in order to accelerate freight transport between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported.

“E-Permit” is an electronic system that helps manage permits for the transport of goods between the countries. Instead of paper documents, drivers and carriers can use digital permits via the internet, making the process faster and more convenient.
