Turkmenistan continues to demonstrate steady rates of economic growth. As of January 2025, the country's GDP increased by 6.3%. Notably, the transport and communication sector made the largest contribution to this growth, showing an 11.1% increase. This indicates the successful implementation of government programs to modernize transport infrastructure and develop logistics and communication services.

During the reporting period, the growth rate in the branches of the transport and communication sector was as follows: “Turkmencommunication” Agency – 117.1%, Shipping – 116.6%, Air transport – 116.3%, Road transport – 111%, Railways – 104.1%.

In the coming years, further development of transport infrastructure is planned, which will strengthen Turkmenistan's position as an important transport hub in the region.

For comparison, the GDP growth rates in other sectors of the economy were as follows: trade – 9.9%, services – 9%, agriculture – 4.2%, construction – 2%, industry – 1%. These figures were announced at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, February 14.
