In 2030, Muslims will observe the holy month of Ramadan on two separate occasions, a rare occurrence arising from the discrepancy between the solar (Gregorian) and lunar (Islamic) calendars.

The first Ramadan will commence on January 5th, 2030, and the second will begin on December 26th of the same year. This signifies that Muslims will undertake a total of 36 days of fasting throughout the year. Such coincidences occur approximately every 30 years, with the last instance of two Ramadans falling within a single year being in 1997. Astronomical calculations indicate that the next such occurrence will be in 2063.

Notably, both months of Ramadan in 2030 will take place during the winter season.
