Kushtdepdi - Harmony of Universe and Human

The young man and the girl make the first smooth movements of the dance. All surrounding, watching them, join them, sometimes even instinctively, starting singing and rhythmically clapping with their hands. And gradually, the first circle is formed, the second one ... the third ... The dancers are charged with the general energy of ecstasy and enthusiasm. At the end of each quatrain of “gazal” the inspired voices can be heard as "hey-ha", "uh-hu", "kusht-kusht". This is the essence of the spectacular show of Kushtdepdi. The special ritual of Kushtdepdi was born at the dawn of civilization. Ancient farmers through the Kushtdepdi expressed gratitude to the bread-providing land. Hunters, making the synchronous turns around the hunted skins or animal carcasses, asked for luck and patronage from the all-powerful nature. Nowadays, Kushtdepdi is not just a dance. It is an expression of the harmony of the universe on Earth, the harmony of human being and environment. Kushtpedi is the unifying force of good, kindness, love, solidarity and renewal. Kushtdepdi is a common action that entices everyone from young to old. Kushtdepdi is the energy of our ancestors, this is our powerful mental heritage, inherent in all of us and continued in our future generations. Kushtdepdi is the eloquent expression of the soul of Turkmenistan.
