The French publishing house Short Edition has developed a device called Short Story Dispenser, which helps people to spend time with advantage, for example, waiting for transport at the airport or at the railway station. A device resembling a payment terminal provides an opportunity to read short literary work. To do this, the user selects the length of the article to be read by pressing one of the buttons on the device, indicated by the digits 1, 3 and 5. The digits correspond to the length of the material in minutes, and the device prints you a randomly selected work.Arslan KEMALOV
The apparatus provides literature from the site of the publishing house "Short Edition", which collected over 13 million works from more than 6,000 authors: from amateurs from the boundless expanses of the Internet and to Virginia Wolf and such classics as William Shakespeare and others. The main advantage is that everything it free.
It is noteworthy that the stories are printed on the so-called "live papyrus", the ink and paper of which are environmentally friendly.
Short Story Dispenser was first introduced at the airport in Paris - Charles de Gaulle, and now more than 150 similar devices are available throughout France.
About 20 such machines were installed in the US. Famous filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola is a fan and one of the investors of the project. He purchased one of the devices and installed it in his cafe "Zoetrope" in San Francisco.
