«Shavat – Dashoguz» border trade zone to launch by end of 2025
The launch of the "Shavat – Dashoguz" border trade zone is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Construction of the zone began in October 2022 and involves building modern infrastructure, including shopping pavilions, warehouses, container yards, and workspaces for entrepreneurs.
The new project is anticipated to become a key driver of mutual trade and an expansion of business ties between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The progress on the launch was discussed on August 22 during a meeting between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Congress Center in the Awaza National Tourist Zone.
The two sides also discussed ways to expand and strengthen their relationship of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership. They noted that since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover between the two countries has reached $700 million.
