At a meeting between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tehran, Ylyas Gaipov, and Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Economic Zones of the Islamic Republic of Iran, specific agreements were reached aimed at developing cultural and tourism cooperation.

The parties, emphasizing their deep historical and cultural commonalities, described the more than 1,000-kilometer border between the countries as a "border of friendship." They particularly emphasized the need to leverage the potential of Iran's free and special economic zones (FEZs/SEZs) to strengthen relations.

The parties also agreed to jointly explore the possibility of establishing direct air service between Turkmenistan and the Iranian islands of Kish and Qeshm, as well as the port of Chabahar, to develop bilateral tourism;
