Baltic port looking for partners in Asia

The Freeport of Riga, along with working with traditional partners in Russia, Belarus, the states of Central Asia and the PRC, will seek new partners in Asia in 2018. According to the marketing director of the port, Edgars Sun, this year the port administration will focus on the Indian and Iranian directions, positioning the port of Riga as a logistics center for the supply of goods to the Baltic, Scandinavian and other northern European countries. In the sphere of passenger transportation, the Freeport of Riga will also strengthen its work with the countries of Asia, and especially with the Middle Kingdom, where cruise tourism has been developing rapidly in recent years. Turkmenistan pays close attention to the creation of transport and transit corridors of regional and continental importance. An important direction of the Turkmen initiatives in the transport sector is the creation of transit corridors between the countries of the Caspian, Black Sea and Baltic basins.
