Turkmenistan delegation attends 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh
A delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by the Minister of Culture Atageldi Shamyradov, is participating in the 26th session of the General Assembly of the UN Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), which is taking place in Riyadh from November 7 to 11.
The Assembly brings together more than 160 delegations from various countries, underscoring the global importance of the issues under discussion.
The central theme of the 26th session has been declared “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future”. This choice highlights the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the new architecture of global tourism. Turkmenistan’s high-level participation emphasizes the country's commitment to modern trends aimed at the digital transformation of its national tourism sector, particularly in key development areas such as the Avaza National Tourist Zone and the historic sites along the Great Silk Road.
During the session, delegates are discussing key areas of development that are of direct interest to Turkmenistan: Implementing advanced technologies and AI in tourism services and management, Expanding partnerships and exchanging experience to promote global tourism routes, Enhancing the resilience and inclusiveness of tourism, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
