The International Conference of Governors of Caspian States, to be held on November 18 and 19 in Rasht (Gilan Province, Iran), will be an important step in strengthening regional cooperation.

The event will bring together governors, officials, and economic activists from coastal provinces of five Caspian states: Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.

According to Iran's Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, the summit will serve as a platform for developing trade, economic, and transit cooperation.

The meeting of governors is being organized based on the resolution of the Third Caspian Economic Conference held in Tehran and is aimed at the practical implementation of regional agreements.

The agenda includes issues such as developing joint projects and attracting capital to coastal regions, activating the North-South Corridor and optimizing transport routes, the Caspian Sea ecosystem, and joint efforts on regional development.

The summit will also be attended by Iranian ambassadors and consuls general to the four Caspian states, as well as their envoys in Tehran.

High-ranking Iranian officials will attend the conference: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni will address the opening ceremony, and First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref will address the closing ceremony, according to the Borna news agency.
