Chinese exports to Europe rely on Central Asian transit

The People's Republic of China sent 1164 freight trains to Europe in 2017, and the number of export railway routes can be raised up to 1400 in 2018. According to the Xinhua News Agency, Chinese exports to Europe come from the Urumqi Collection and Distribution Center in northwest of China.
Trains, mainly, deliver to the European market products manufactured in the the Celestial Empire – clothing, consumer goods, spare parts for cars and electronics products.
At present, Chinese commodity trains go to Europe in three directions: through Central Asia, Russia and Mongolia.
It is noted, that currently the railway freight routes connect Urumqi with 23 cities of Europe and Central Asia, and, recently, the railway departments of the People's Republic of China and Kazakhstan opened a new transport corridor.
Railway trains from Urumqi, which run between China and Europe, have the opportunity to travel through Baku to the border crossings between Turkey and Greece, and to go further to various European countries.
One of the priorities of Turkmenistan's policy is the creation of transport and transit corridors of continental importance, including multimodal transportation. The implementation of a set of measures within the framework of this policy made it possible to repeatedly increase the transit potential of the Central Asian region.
