A Roadmap for the Development of Mining and the Digital Asset Market in Turkmenistan Has Been Developed
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the draft of an important document that will determine the development of the country's digital economy over the next five years: The Roadmap for the Regulation of Virtual Assets and the Implementation of Mining Technologies in Turkmenistan for 2026–2030.
Deputy Prime Minister Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov reported on the draft Roadmap at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The proposal to introduce digital technologies into the economy, approved by the head of state, marks a transition to the active development of the sector.
The document provides for the creation of the necessary legal, technological, and organizational framework for the reliable functioning of the digital asset market in Turkmenistan.
The Roadmap contains specific measures and deadlines for their implementation, covering the following strategic areas: the introduction of mining technologies into the country's economy; the development of energy and communications infrastructure necessary for the digital sector; attracting investment, launching pilot projects, ensuring cybersecurity, and improving energy efficiency; training qualified specialists to work with virtual assets.
Along with the draft Roadmap, a proposal to create a special State Commission to oversee the implementation of the five-year strategy was also submitted to the head of state for consideration.
