Ashgabat-2017 to encourage Turkmen-Malaysian tourism cooperation
5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) would provide excellent platform to promote Turkmenistan tourism among Malaysians, reported Bernama referring to country’s Ambassador to Malaysia Yazguly Mammedov.
He made these remarks during the presentation of Turkmenistan tourism potential and Business networking between Turkmen and Malaysian tour operators, held on Wednesday, 16 August, in Kuala Lumpur at Malaysia Tourism Center (MaTiC).
The series of presentations were started with short video footage about Turkmenistan and introduction to tourism sector. The auditorium had a good opportunity to get complete information about AIMAG, travel and ticket services. Promotional short video film was shown.
Steven Tan, official sales agent for Turkmen Airlines to Malaysia told about the carrier’s routing and connections.
Then, tour operators of Malaysia and Turkmenistan have discussed the prospects of partnership in business-2-business format.
The event was concluded by press conference for media representatives.
The tourists from South Asian countries, particularly from Malaysia are invited to experience nature's beauty and historical monuments, hospitality and friendliness of the Turkmenistan people during Asian Games, said Turkmen Ambassador.
The director of Package Development division of Tourism Malaysia agency, Saidi Bundan, stressed that “Ashgabat 2017” will become a good platform for Malaysian tourists to promote the beauty of the country for people of Turkmenistan, thereby helping to boost tourism industry.
Over 18,000 tourists from the Central Asia region, including Turkmenistan visited Malaysia last year, he said.
