CIS Executive Committee forms Observer Mission for presidential elections in Russia and parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan


CIS Executive Committee began forming of Observer Mission from the side of Commonwealth for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, scheduled for March 18, 2018, and parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan, appointed a week later - on March 25, 2018. Supposes, that 250 representatives of the CIS member countries and Commonwealth institutions will observe the election process. The monitoring of the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis (parliament) of Turkmenistan will be carried out by the CIS mission, which will include 70 observers. It is expected that the observers will start their work in Russia on February 19, 2018, and in Turkmenistan - on March 2, 2018. The Turkmen parliament is the highest representative body in the country exercising legislative power. The parliament includes 125 parliamentarians who are electing for five years.
