Astrakhan shipyard builds the ship for the Turkmen Caspian fields


By the end of March 2018, the jigs of the shipyard “Astrakhan shipbuilding production association” (ASPA) will launch the multi-purpose crane vessel Palwan, designed for the Caspian oil fields of Turkmenistan, reported the official website of the Governor of the Astrakhan region.
The project valued at US $ 30 million is ordered by the operator "Dragon Oil", subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (UAE).
The ship has sophisticated design and equipping from the engineering point of view, because it is intended to perform multiple logistic tasks. Along with the main function, installation of the basic structures of oil platforms, the ship can be used for rescue and support operations.
"This is the unique ship for the southern region, such never built before," says project manager Andrey Hir. The governor of the region Alexander Zhilkin personally controls the timely project implementation.
After commissioning, Palwan will head for the Turkmen port "Khazar".

In 2013, the specialists of the association have built oil platform for the Turkmen oil and gas condensate field "Jygalybeg".
